A few months ago a major multi million £ company approached me and asked if I would be interested in allowing them to place and ad on my website and use my blog for the princely one off payment of £40. Eh Thanks but no thanks.
Although it did get me thinking - unusual phenomenon I know!
If a company as large as this thinks my wee website gets enough traffic for them to use then why not put it to better use ... locally. GUEST BLOGGERS!
As I said I have been mulling over this idea for quite some time. Am I ready to lease my baby out? After all it took me long enough to take the bull by the horns and go for it. My website wouldn't be what it is without the amazing genius that is Ray Lawlor at www.webcraftni.com A real gentleman and above all professional AND patient. Very important when dealing with me trying to get my head around the wibbly wobbly web.
Right, back to the idea...
Being in business at the moment isn't easy. Belts have been tightened and because of the difficulties facing everyone it is so very important to support our local businesses.
To begin with my idea was to have businesses involved in the wedding industry, florists, card makers etc. A new business blogging each week. When I put the feelers out on social media sites I received quite a few messages from crafters asking if they could blog too.
"Why the heck not" says I... And so here I am about to embark on a whole new project. A blog for the people by the people. (Too American?)
If you have a talent, a craft, small business etc and you wish to be a guest blogger GET WRITING!!! Approx 300 words and a photo or 2, email these to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will then be added to the list.
